Verbal reasoning has about 21 different types.  Usually, only a few are tested in each 11 Plus exam.  The most widely tested verbal reasoning type is 'similar meaning' (synonyms) and 'opposite meaning' (antonyms).   Improving vocabulary range is a sure way to excel in this section of the exam.
